78 El Camino

Besides 'Old Yeller', nothing tugs on our heart-strings like a classic Father-Son project, and this El Camino is definitely a project...

The car was purchased, the car was delivered, the can of worms was opened. The transmission went out on the very first drive, and the engine wasn't quite doing what it was supposed to either. When the powertrain was out of it, rust was found around the windshield. That's pretty much when the snowball started rolling.
The guys fixed the rust then got a transmission and rebuilt the engine with a few performance upgrades.
The son is now serving our great country by being a member of our military, and Dad just doesn't have the time right now, so we get to help another dream hit the road.
New tailgate is on to check bedside warp
Seriously, overlapping joint on the side?
Less for us to remove!
The doors need new hinges
Again, overlapping panels?!
Patches on the inside of the sail panel. No idea why...
The old tailgate was bent pretty bad
Cut that crooked junk off!
Cleaned up and sprayed with epoxy
Ready for the new piece from Goodmark
The door skin was wrinkled too
Don't worry, we're not going to cut the fender off!
The new panel has arrived
